Job summary

Trelleborg Group in Melbourne is seeking a Junior Functional Tester on a 3-month fixed-term contract, with potential extension. The role focuses on hands-on manual functional testing and offers a path to automation through Playwright within an established framework.

You will work with developers, the Software Engineering Manager and business stakeholders to identify issues, validate fixes and help ensure a high-quality product is delivered.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' commercial experience in software testing.
• Demonstrated manual functional testing of commercial applications.
• Ability to develop clear, structured test cases from written requirements and user stories.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined defect reporting.
• Experience documenting reproduction steps and expected versus actual results with supporting evidence.
• Experience using Jira for defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute functional test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
• Identify, document, triage and track defects through to resolution, including clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Retest fixes and maintain regression test cases as the product evolves.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collate feedback from business stakeholders.
• Build and maintain basic automated UI test scripts using Playwright within the existing software testing framework.
• Report testing progress, coverage, defects and outstanding risks to the Software Engineering Manager.
• Work collaboratively with the software engineering team throughout the development and release process.
