Lyra Technologies Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Junior Forward Deployed Engineer to contribute to client projects within a supportive engineering team. You will implement features, fix defects, test changes, and participate in code reviews under guidance from senior engineers.

Based in Australia, you will work on Next.js/TypeScript and Python stack, collaborate with startups and clients, and grow through merit-based progression.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in a similar startup/software role.
• Strong full-stack engineering capability with modern web stacks.
• Excellent client-facing communication and collaboration skills.
• Based in Australia and eligible to work in Australia.

We are looking for a Junior Forward Deployed Engineer who will complete defined software engineering tasks within a larger client project with support from more senior engineers. The position implements assigned application features and fixes, tests product behaviour, participates in pull-request review, responds to review feedback and reports progress and blockers to the engagement team.

The job description includes but not limited to:

• Implement assigned product features and changes
• Investigate and fix defects

• Report progress and participate in team discussions

What we're looking for

• At least 1-3 years of experience in a similar role at other startups or software companies under your belt.
• High proficiency in full-stack engineering with Next.js / TypeScript and/or Python.
• You are curious about how things work and have innate ability to problem solve - this is crucial as you won't always have the information you need to move forward.
• Strong client-facing communication.
• Based in Australia.
