Job summary

CHU Australia is seeking a Junior Financial Accountant to support the Finance Business Partner in daily finance operations. You will help maintain strong controls, improve systems, and learn from a growing, award-winning team with flexible hybrid work across Australia.

This entry-level role targets candidates with 12–18 months’ experience, a desire to learn, and an interest in CPA/CA progress and AI-enabled finance.

The Junior Financial Accountant serves as a key finance systems specialist and trusted point of contact, supporting the Finance Business Partner in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial processes, strengthening financial controls, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the efficient operation of finance systems to support informed business decision-making. This position would suit a candidate with entry level (12-18 months) experience looking to join an organisation where they can learn from the ground up.

What your new job looks like:

  • Manage policy transaction processing across multiple systems, collaborating with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Perform daily banking reconciliations, administer the corporate credit card program, and support accurate month-end financial reporting.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes by preparing financial data, analysis, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate regular compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, including ESG data collection, FBT returns, and other statutory reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes, while supporting ad hoc projects and broader Finance team objectives.
