Job summary

Central Highlands Water is seeking a senior finance leader to head the Financial Accounting team in Ballarat. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, partnering with operations, and providing clear financial insights and advice to support business decisions.

  • Demonstrated technical experience in the provision of sound financial management and accounting, and business focused analysis and advice, with a focus on identifying and driving business improvements.
  • Proven record of leading a high performing team in the delivery of quality accounting services that achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor and foster active partnerships across the business and be an interface for clear and user-friendly information between finance and operations.
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance in the preparation of timely and accurate financial and management accounting information.
  • Provide high level financial analysis, strategic advice and support across the organisation and drive process improvement; and
  • Provide leadership and support to the Financial Accounting team.

The opportunity

Lead the Financial Accounting team, delivering accurate and timely financial reporting while partnering with the business to provide clear financial insights and advice.The primary objectives of the position are to:

  • Be a trusted advisor and foster active partnerships across the business and be an interface for clear and user-friendly information between finance and operations;
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance in the preparation of timely and accurate financial and management accounting information;
  • Provide high level financial analysis, strategic advice and support across the organisation and drive process improvement; and
  • Provide leadership and support to the Financial Accounting team.
