Job summary

Highland Recruitment in the Southern Highlands is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator/Designer to join a local team. This full-time role offers on-the-job training as you assist with estimating, design work and preparing project information.

You'll work closely with the Design Manager, develop drafting and design skills, review plans and specifications, and liaise with clients and the sales team to craft suitable design solutions.

Junior Estimator / Designer

Full-Time | Braemar, Southern Highlands

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated Junior Estimator/Designer to join an established local business in the Southern Highlands.

This role would suit a school leaver with a genuine interest in drafting, engineering or design, or a recent university graduate in drafting, architecture or a related discipline looking to gain practical, hands-on experience.

Working closely with an experienced Design Manager and design team, you'll receive on the job training while developing your technical skills and knowledge. You'll assist with preparing estimates and designs, updating project information, reviewing plans and specifications, and working with the sales team and clients to help develop suitable design solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with estimating, design work and project re-quotes.
• Reviewing project requirements and helping develop appropriate design solutions.
• Using computer systems and software, including Excel, to prepare estimates and maintain project information.
• Liaising with clients and the sales team regarding project requirements.
• Supporting the design team with day-to-day tasks and projects.
