Job summary

Deacon Recruitment's client on the Gold Coast is seeking a Junior Estimator to join their established estimating team, handling BOQs and takeoffs for turnkey house and land packages. Training will be provided to grow within the estimating function.

Ideal candidates may be Carpentry trades-qualified or have early estimating experience, with strong numeracy, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to build a career in residential construction.

Qualifications

• Carpentry trade qualification or some estimating experience in residential construction.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail essential.
• Desire to build a career in estimating within a growing company.

Responsibilities

• Complete BOQs and takeoffs for turnkey house and land packages.
• Assist senior estimators and learn estimating processes.
• Collaborate with a dynamic team to support bidding and project delivery.

Our client is a highly respected residential builder on the Gold Coast with an exceptional industry reputation and turning over approximately 400 homes per year.

About the Position

Currently an opportunity exists for a Junior Estimator to join the business in a role completing BOQs and takeoffs for turnkey house and land packages.

What we're looking for

This position may suit a Carpenter with a desire to get off the tools and establish a career in estimating, or alternatively an Estimator at the earlier stages of their career and eager to grow with a reputable organisation.

Skills and experience required:

Carpentry Trade qualified OR some estimating experience in a residential environment

A desire to build a career in the residential building industry

Good numerical ability and mathematic skills

A team player and strong work ethic

High attention to detail
