Civilworks Australia Group is a Sydney-based paving and concrete specialist delivering high-quality public domain, commercial and residential works. We work with builders, head contractors and councils across NSW and are known for the quality of our paving and the reliability of our delivery.

We are looking for a junior estimator who can measure, price and compile tender submissions, with strong numeracy, Excel skills and attention to detail, to grow with the business in a hands-on team.

Qualifikationen

• A qualification in construction, quantity surveying, civil engineering or estimating.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Confident in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with spreadsheets and rate databases.
• Ability to read and interpret construction, landscape and civil drawings.
• A sound understanding of construction processes; exposure to paving, concrete, landscaping or civil works is a strong advantage.
• Clear written and verbal communication and the ability to work as part of a small, hands-on team.
• Capacity to manage several tenders at once and meet submission deadlines.
• Preferred: experience with take-off or estimating software, or exposure to tender and subcontract processes

Aufgaben

• Measuring and preparing cost estimates for paving and concrete packages from drawings and specifications.
• Taking off quantities for pavers, bedding, concrete slabs, kerbs, edge restraints and related works.
• Sourcing and comparing supplier pricing for pavers, stone, concrete and materials, and obtaining subcontractor quotes.
• Identifying scope gaps, exclusions and risks in tender documents and raising RFIs with builders and consultants.
• Maintaining estimating spreadsheets, rate libraries and supplier pricing with accuracy.
• Compiling tender submissions, quotations and cost breakdowns for builders and head contractors.
• Liaising with project managers, architects, landscape architects and builders to clarify scope and specification.
• Supporting the review of estimates before submission and assisting with post-tender clarifications.
• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of estimating templates and processes.

Key responsibilities

Measuring and preparing cost estimates for paving and concrete packages from architectural, landscape and civil drawings and specifications

Taking off quantities for pavers, bedding, concrete slabs, kerbs, edge restraints and associated works

Sourcing and comparing supplier pricing for pavers, stone, concrete and materials, and obtaining subcontractor quotes where required

Identifying scope gaps, exclusions and risks in tender documents and raising RFIs with builders and consultants

What we’re looking for

A qualification in construction, quantity surveying, civil engineering or estimating, or equivalent practical experience in a trade or site role

Strong numeracy and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

Confident in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with spreadsheets and rate databases

Ability to read and interpret construction, landscape and civil drawings

A sound understanding of construction processes; exposure to paving, concrete, landscaping or civil works is a strong advantage
