Job summary

Novatec Design in Melbourne’s Southbank invites a recent architecture graduate to join our established team. You will work on real projects from day one, collaborating with senior architects on commercial and retail work across Australia, gaining national experience without relocating.

The role is office-based with site inspections and occasional interstate travel, delivering clear, well-resolved documentation to our standard.

Qualifications

• Recent architecture graduate with documentation experience from placement or vacation work.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Careful, methodical approach and high attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist design development and project documentation.
• Prepare drawings and details in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Develop 3D models, visualisations and presentation material.
• Assist with site inspections, site measures and consultant coordination.
• Learn and apply the NCC, Australian Standards and office documentation systems.
• Work as part of a small, experienced studio team.

Job description

We're looking for a recent architecture graduate with strong documentation skills to join our established team in Southbank.

You'll work on real projects from day one, alongside senior architects on commercial and retail work across Australia. Because every project is designed and documented from our Melbourne office, you'll gain national project experience without needing to relocate.

The role is mainly office-based, with regular opportunities for site inspections and measures, and occasional interstate travel.

We're known for clear, well-resolved documentation, and you'll learn to produce it to the same standard.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with design development and project documentation
• Preparing drawings and details in AutoCAD and Revit
• Developing 3D models, visualisations and presentation material
• Assisting with site inspections, site measures and consultant coordination
• Learning and applying the NCC, Australian Standards and office documentation systems
• Working as part of a small, experienced studio team

About you

• Documentation experience from practice (part-time, placement or vacation work)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• A careful, methodical approach and strong attention to detail
• A willingness to learn, take feedback and develop professionally
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
• A genuine interest in buildability and quality outcomes
• A driver's licence and access to a car are an advantage for site visits

Salary at or above the Architects Award 2020, based on experience
