Job summary

Perigon Group Pty Limited in Brisbane seeks an energetic assistant accountant to support accounts receivable and broader finance activities. You will work closely with operations to ensure accurate recording of sales, purchases and logistics transactions, while developing your accounting skills.

You will engage in bank and intercompany reconciliations, assist with month-end close, and contribute to financial reporting and compliance tasks as part of a growing team.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance position.
• Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Pursuing CA/CPA qualification.
• Experience with invoicing, reconciliations and payment processing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end activities.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
• Able to collaborate with operational stakeholders.
• Demonstrates proactive attitude toward developing accounting career.

Responsibilities

• Managing accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, reconciliations and collections.
• Recording sales, purchasing and logistics transactions with operational teams.
• Assisting with accounts payable and general finance transactions.
• Preparing bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Supporting cash flow monitoring and treasury-related accounting activities.
• Maintaining general ledger records and preparing journals.
• Assisting with month-end close and the preparation of financial reports.
• Preparing draft management reporting and supporting schedules.
• Assisting with BAS, FBT and payroll tax compliance requirements.
• Assisting with year-end reporting and external audit processes.
• Identifying discrepancies and helping maintain accurate financial records.
