Job summary

BHP is seeking a Jumbo Operator for the Olympic Dam mine in South Australia. The role supports the Mine Development team, focusing on safe, efficient jumbo operations across complex mining zones.

Responsibilities include performing bolt and bore rounds, ensuring ground support aligns with standards, and driving improvements in productivity while adhering to safety procedures. A valid manual licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experienced Jumbo Operator who can safely achieve industry KPI’s.
• Ability to coach and mentor team members/offsiders to promote safe work practices.
• Proven commitment to wellbeing and speaking up for safety.
• Team player with self-motivation and collaborative mindset.
• Prior experience across multiple sites and ground conditions is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s Licence with manual drivetrain capability.

Responsibilities

• Bolt and Bore development rounds of up to 5-meter advance.
• Be competent in lateral, include and decline mining.
• Follow standards and procedures to work safely and effectively.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Develop quality excavation profiles and ground support installed to standard.
• Ensure effective roadways and maximum advance per round.
