Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Jumbo Operator to play a crucial role in underground development by ensuring safe and efficient drilling operations. As part of the team, you will operate modern twin-boom jumbo rigs and maintain high standards while working across active headings.

Responsibilities

• Operating twin-boom jumbo drills for underground development.
• Ensuring accurate drilling to design and ground support requirements.
• Providing support to Charge-up Crews and other operators.
• Communicating effectively with engineers and supervisors.
• Conducting thorough pre-starts and basic maintenance.

Skills

Underground mining experience operating jumbo drill rigs

Knowledge of charging, firing, bogging

Understanding of underground hard-rock mining techniques

Knowledge of ground support systems

Ability to read drill plans and mine designs

Proactive attitude with commitment to safety

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

Valid manual C Class Driver’s Licence

WA Dangerous Goods Security Card

Working at Heights certification
