Job summary

South32 at the Cannington operation in northwest Queensland is seeking an experienced Jumbo Operator to safely operate jumbo equipment and install ground support in an underground mine. The role requires using SANDVIK rigs and a strong safety culture, with FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa region.

Responsibilities include operating jumbo equipment, completing face boring and meshing, following mine plans, and maintaining safety practices.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Jumbo Operator in underground mining.
• Proven experience operating SANDVIK rigs.
• Underground mining experience essential.
• Commitment to a positive safety culture.

• Discounted rates on travel, healthcare, and technology products, We have several permanent roles available on a 7:7 roster, 12.5hrs Dayshift/Nightshift rotating roster. FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, and Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

There is a clean-shaven policy at Cannington and smoking is not permitted during work hours.

As the Jumbo Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operating of jumbo and the correct installation of ground support. Utilising your technical skills to develop others within the development space.
