Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is seeking a Jumbo Operator for the Cannington mine in northwest Queensland.

The role involves safely operating jumbo equipment, installing ground support and executing work per mine plans. FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane and Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires is available. Applicants should have solid jumbo operating experience, underground exposure and a strong safety mindset.

ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have several permanent roles available on a 7:7 roster , 12.5hrs Dayshift/Nightshift rotating roster. FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, and Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

There is a clean-shaven policy at Cannington and smoking is not permitted during work hours.

As the Jumbo Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operating of jumbo and the correct installation of ground support. Utilising your technical skills to develop others within the development space.

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Solid experience working as a Jumbo Operator
• Underground experience is essential
• Commitment to a positive safety culture

Qualifications for this position are:

• First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
