Job summary

South32 operates the Cannington mine in northwest Queensland and is seeking skilled Jumbo Operators for a permanent role on a 7:7 roster. FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane and Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires enable suited candidates. You will safely operate jumbo equipment and install ground support per mine plans.

The role emphasises safety, teamwork and developing others in a dynamic mining environment, with strong focus on compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Jumbo Operator in underground mining.
• Underground mining experience is essential.
• Commitment to a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain jumbo equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete face boring and meshing activities
• Execute work as per mine plans and designs
• Install ground support to required standards and specifications
• Follow safe work practices and procedures
