Job summary

The BUSY Group is seeking a Job Placement Officer to act as the matchmaker between inclusive employers and jobseekers. You will champion diversity and create meaningful employment opportunities, blending employer engagement, job coaching, and community impact across seven Townsville sites.

Based in our Aitkenvale Office, the role is full-time and fixed-term until 30 June 2030. You will build partnerships, support jobseekers to shine, and develop sustainable employment pathways that transform

Qualifications

• Experience in employer engagement and job placement.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Empathy and a solutions-focused mindset.
• Valid Blue Card and National Police Check.
• Open driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships with employers and advocate for inclusive hiring practices.
• Use reverse marketing and business development strategies to uncover job opportunities.
• Run engaging job readiness workshops, including resumes, interviews, and employment skills.
• Match jobseekers to suitable roles using a strengths-based, person-centred approach.
• Support wage subsidy agreements and maintain accurate employer and client records.
• Represent BUSY Ability at job fairs, expos, and community events.
• Promote cultural competence and inclusive communication across all interactions.
• Meet performance targets by converting leads into sustainable placements.

The Role

As a Job Placement Officer, you’ll be the matchmaker between inclusive employers and incredible jobseekers. Your superpower? Championing diversity and creating job opportunities for our client. This role blends employer engagement, job coaching, and community impact — helping shape inclusive futures and strengthen local workplaces.

Working across our 7 Townsville sites, you’ll build strong employer partnerships, support jobseekers to shine, and create sustainable employment pathways that change lives.

The role is Full Time -Fixed Term until 30 June 2030 based in our Aitkenvale Office.

A Bit About You

• Experience in Business to Business sales or other sales backgrounds with an ability to address objections, employer engagement, employment services, or diversity hiring
• Confident communicator with strong relationship‑building skills
• Empathy, creativity, and a solutions‑focused mindset
• Valid Blue Card (or ability to obtain), National Police Check, and open driver’s licence
