Job summary

Talent International is seeking an experienced Java/API Developer for a major enterprise transformation program. You will build high-volume, production-grade Java applications and modern APIs with Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes and Kafka.

This highly hands-on role focuses on delivering enterprise integration services, solving complex backend challenges and maintaining performance at scale for millions of interactions. Hybrid working with a 6-month contract is offered.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Java development
• Experience designing, building and deploying REST APIs
• Strong background in Spring Boot and microservices
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and containers
• Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Java / API Developer to join a major enterprise transformation program, building high-volume, mission-critical integration services that support millions of customer interactions.

This is a highly hands‑on development role suited to an engineer who enjoys spending the majority of their time designing, coding, testing and delivering production‑grade Java applications.

You’ll work within an experienced Agile engineering team using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes and Kafka to build modern APIs, microservices and event‑driven applications at enterprise scale.

About the Role

As a Java / API Developer, you’ll be responsible for the hands‑on development and delivery of enterprise integration services.

You’ll take solution designs and requirements through to working production code, developing new services and APIs, enhancing existing applications, troubleshooting technical issues and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the platform.

This role will particularly suit someone who is technically strong, still actively coding and wants to remain hands‑on rather than move into a purely architecture position.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands‑on development of Java and Spring Boot microservices
• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable REST APIs
• Develop enterprise integration and event‑driven services using Apache Kafka
