Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies is seeking a power trading focused analyst to support the Japan and APAC trading desk. You will develop forecasting models and tools to inform trading decisions and deepen understanding of market dynamics.

The role requires deep knowledge of Japan power markets, familiarity with gas fundamentals, and programming skills in Python, R, Matlab, C++, or C#. You will collaborate with colleagues and external partners in an autonomous yet collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of power trading or analytical experience focused on Japan Power
• Deep knowledge of Japanese energy markets and gas fundamentals
• Experience with renewables is a plus
• Coding skills in Python, R, Matlab and/or C++, C#
• Strong statistical modeling and research background a plus
• Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team

Responsibilities

• Support the Japan and APAC Power trading desk with forecasting models and tools
• Model supply/demand and price characteristics of Japan Power markets
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive trading insights
• Operate with autonomy within a collegial, data-driven environment
