Job summary

La Milano Bathurst, a vibrant Italian dining establishment in Bathurst, NSW, is seeking two talented cooks to join the team. You will prepare traditional Italian dishes, make fresh sauces, and ensure meals are cooked to perfection while maintaining kitchen hygiene.

You will also guide junior staff and adapt dishes for dietary needs. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of experience in Italian cuisine and hold a hospitality or culinary qualification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in Italian cuisine.
• Must hold a relevant hospitality or culinary qualification.
• Ability to work in a busy kitchen and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traditional Italian dishes like pasta, pizza, risotto, and soups.
• Make fresh sauces from scratch (tomato, Alfredo, pesto).
• Cook pasta to the right texture and bake pizzas with a crispy base.
• Follow food safety rules and keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
• Check ingredients to ensure nothing is out of stock and assist head chef with daily preparation.
• Ensure meals are cooked at the right temperature and served hot; present food neatly.
• Guide and support junior kitchen staff when needed.
