Private Advertiser in Sydney, Australia is seeking an in-house IT professional to own and drive the IT function. You will partner with an MSP for security, hosting and domain management while leading internal IT projects and licensing, access controls and asset management.
The role starts with a focus on achieving Essential 8 ML2 maturity and may pursue DISP Level 1- Protected status. Expect early starts and occasional interstate travel, with a driver to build dashboards and automate processes.
We are an established company within the construction industry, with a team of approximately 60 people. As part of our continued growth, we have made a deliberate strategic decision to bring our IT operations in-house. This move reflects our commitment to strengthening our internal capabilities, improving control and responsiveness, and ensuring our technology environment continues to evolve alongside the needs of our business.
You will be our in-house IT person, reporting directly to the Business Manager, with a contracted Managed Service Provider (MSP) behind you handling security, cybersecurity, hosting, cloud and domain management. Your job is to run everything on our side - from supporting internal stakeholders to managing projects and overseeing everything else in between such as licensing access, MSP management, equipment and assets.
A key priority within your first six months will be to assess our current environment, identify the changes required to achieve Essential 8 Maturity Level 2 (ML2), and lead the implementation of those changes. This project will also position the business to pursue membership in the Australian Government's Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) as a Level 1 - Protected supplier.
The standard working hours for the role are 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. The position will require occasional travel to Sydney and interstate as business requirements dictate.
As our operations commence from 5:30am, you will also be required to maintain availability from 5:30am should our early-starting team require urgent IT support. This does not necessarily mean working from 5:30am each day, but you will need to be contactable and able to respond when required.
