Job summary

Source ICT Pty Ltd in Brisbane CBD is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Azure) for a 20-month fixed-term appointment on-site. The role requires deep operational knowledge of Windows/ infrastructure, virtualization, backup, and Azure services to support 3,500 employees across Queensland.

You will work across cloud infrastructure, networking, security, automation, and operations with strong VMware, Fortinet and Juniper experience, and contribute to reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Deep operational knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization, and backup systems.
• Strong Azure skills: Azure Desktop Virtualisation, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and Azure management.
• Experience with VMware, Fortinet and Juniper networks.
• Ability to develop, maintain and follow procedures in continuous improvement.

SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER | AZURE

20- month fixed term appointment

Based on site in Brisbane CBD

Technology Solutions team of this community services non-profit organisation supports approximately 3500 employees and 250 sites throughout Queensland. Senior Systems Engineer requires deep operational technical knowledge of operating systems, infrastructure (physical / virtual) and backup systems and be able to apply that knowledge effectively.

Key Azure skills required

• Azure Desktop Virtualisation.
• Azure Management Services -Files Setup
• Azure SQL Managed Instances

Strong technical capability across cloud infrastructure, networking, security, automation, and operations, with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

In depth experience supporting, developing and maintaining virtualisation platforms (primarily VM-Ware), corporate network technology (Fortignet, Juniper) and backup platforms (Veeam)

Advanced technical skills in supporting, configuration, securing and management of cloud services (Azure),

Practical experience supporting, operating, maintaining, and securing services (both internal and Internet facing),

Strong technical proficiency implementing, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft operating and authentication environments,

Advanced experience configuring and supporting Microsoft 365 Tenancies,

Experience supporting and configuring specialist enterprise platforms and applications (ie SQL),

Previous experience configuring and supporting Hybrid Exchange and Teams environments,

Development and maintenance of automation scripts,

Ability to develop, maintain and follow set procedures within a continuous improvement program,

Create and promote meaningful and quality change within the environment,

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to complete root cause analysis,

Excellent written communication skills with a focus on developing and maintenance of quality documentation.
