Job summary

Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager to lead complex technology programs and drive strategic outcomes. You will manage governance, delivery, and stakeholder expectations across multi-project initiatives, balancing the existing roadmap with emerging priorities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading large, complex digital transformation or business systems programs in government or similarly complex environments.
• Demonstrated experience establishing program governance, delivery frameworks, risk management and stakeholder engagement processes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing vendors/service providers to achieve outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of program management methodologies, digital systems delivery, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-project programs including planning, prioritisation, governance, risk management and executive reporting.
• Provide strategic direction for design, implementation and continuous improvement of digital systems and services.
• Establish program controls, assurance processes, steering arrangements and reporting aligned with government frameworks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of project managers, business analysts, technical specialists, vendors and contractors.
• Manage program budgets, procurement, resource planning and supplier performance to deliver value for money.
• Build trusted relationships with senior executives, business owners and delivery partners.
• Oversee risks, issues and dependencies while supporting business continuity and compliance.
• Provide clear, evidence-based advice and briefings to executives and governance forums.
