Talent Web in Sydney is seeking an experienced IT Manager to own the technology environment for an established Australian organisation. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a small team and oversee D365 Finance, cybersecurity, IT strategy, governance, applications, infrastructure and vendor relationships.

This hands-on leadership role requires a commercially minded technology executive who can set direction while delivering day-to-day IT operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in IT with strategy, operations and project delivery.
• Strong D365 experience across applications and business perspective.

Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of the technology environment for an established and diversified Australian organisation based in Sydney.

Reporting to the CFO and managing a small team, this is a broad, hands‑on technology leadership role spanning D365 Finance, cyber security, IT strategy, governance, applications, infrastructure, vendors and technology projects.

This role will suit a commercially minded IT leader who is equally comfortable setting technology direction and getting involved in day‑to‑day delivery.

You will own the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap while ensuring its applications, infrastructure and security environment remain stable, secure and aligned with business requirements. You will also work closely with senior executives, business leaders, MSPs, technology vendors and system integrators.

Importantly, this is not purely a people leadership role. We are looking for someone with strong, above‑average D365 capability combined with genuine hands‑on cyber security experience.

Key Responsibilities will include;

• Owning the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap while ensuring its applications, infrastructure and security environment remain stable, secure and aligned with business requirements.
• Work closely with senior executives, business leaders, MSPs, technology vendors and system integrators.
• Own and execute the organisation's IT strategy and multi‑year technology roadmap
• Take a key role in the ongoing management and improvement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance
• Manage and continuously improve the organisation's cyber security posture, policies, controls and risk management
• Oversee a reliable, secure, integrated and cost‑effective IT environment
• Lead IT governance, policies, procedures and technology standards
• Manage key technology suppliers, MSPs, cyber security partners and system integrators
• Drive application enhancements, integrations and implementation of new business systems
• Oversee IT projects and ensure delivery is achieved on time and within budget
• Support the technology integration associated with business acquisitions
• Provide board level reporting on IT performance, security and key initiatives.

To be successful, you will need;

• Extensive experience in IT, with experience across technology strategy, operations and project delivery
• Strong D365 experience – candidates must have deeper than general exposure to D365 and be confident working across the platform from an applications and business perspective
• Strong cyber security experience, including security technologies, governance, risk, controls and cyber security frameworks
• At least 5 years' experience working with cyber security technologies
• Broad technical knowledge across applications, integrations, infrastructure and IT operations
• Experience managing MSPs, technology vendors and third‑party suppliers
• Strong IT governance and ITIL knowledge
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently with executives and senior business leaders
• A pragmatic, hands‑on approach – someone who can develop the strategy but is equally comfortable getting involved in delivery.

Desirable to have;

• Experience within hospitality, property or environments involving point-of-sale systems would be advantageous.
