Job summary

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable IT Asset & Inventory Coordinator to support asset management and inventory operations at our data centre site in Sydney Australia.

This is a hands-on, on-site role responsible for managing IT hardware, spare parts, inventory records and warehouse activities. You will work closely with engineers, logistics teams, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure equipment is accurately received, stored, tracked and issued.

The role is well suited to someone with 2+ years of experience in IT asset management, data centre operations, IT inventory, warehousing or technical logistics who is comfortable working with high-value IT equipment and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform delivery and receiving checks, including quantity, model, packaging and physical condition
• Scan and verify asset tags, serial numbers and equipment details
• Quarantine and report damaged, incorrect or unexpected equipment
• Process equipment receipts, issues, transfers and returns against approved work orders
• Maintain accurate asset registers, spare-parts records, repair/RMA status and storage locations
• Ensure physical inventory and system records remain accurate and consistent
• Conduct regular cycle counts and scheduled inventory checks
• Investigate and report inventory discrepancies and follow up on corrective actions
• Maintain warehouse organisation and apply appropriate 5S and segregation practices
• Clearly identify and isolate faulty or returned equipment
• Control the movement of assets in and out of the data centre and ensure appropriate approvals and records are maintained
• Support engineers with the timely retrieval and issue of spare parts and equipment
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering inventory movements, discrepancies, low-stock items and outstanding repairs
• Monitor stock levels and provide replenishment recommendations
• Work closely with engineers, logistics teams, vendors and other stakeholders to support smooth site operations

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced technical environment.

You will ideally have:

• 2+ years of experience in IT asset management, data centre operations, IT inventory, warehousing, spare-parts management or technical logistics
• Experience working with IT hardware or technical equipment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling serial numbers, asset records and inventory
• Experience using Excel and asset, CMDB or warehouse management systems
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to follow processes and maintain accurate documentation
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineers, logistics teams, vendors and other stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a data centre / warehouse environment
• Excellent communication skills in English, with Mandarin language skills valued for building strong relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders across Australia and Asia.
