Job summary

Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is seeking a Program Coordinator to deliver the Industry Ready 10-week training project. This role focuses on improving employability for vulnerable people and increasing their connection to the community through group education and supported pathways to employment.

The Coordinator will implement the program in line with the service contract, delivering from Hervey Bay and working with local partners.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Social Work, Human Services or similar.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of barriers faced by unemployed people.
• Superior human relation skills and good computer skills.
• Group facilitation and training experience.
• Ability to lead collaborative case planning and multidisciplinary responses.
• Experience in intake, assessment, case management and complex service coordination.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred practice.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing complex social issues and barriers to participation.
• Drivers Licence
• Working with Children Suitability Card & Police Check

Responsibilities

• Deliver the 10-week Industry Ready training program in line with the project service contract.
• Engage with participants and community partners to support employability and connection to community.
• Coordinate and lead group work education activities and monitoring of outcomes.
• Work from a Hervey Bay-based location within the Hervey Bay Local Government Area.
• Contribute to collaborative case planning and multidisciplinary responses as part of the project team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Program Coordinator to deliver the Industry Ready, 10-week training project to improve employability skills for vulnerable people to increase their connection to community through group work education and ultimately gain employment.

The Coordinator deliver the program in line with the goals and objectives outlined in the project service contract. The service area covers Hervey Bay Local Government Area.

This is a Hervey Bay-based role

You bring a mix of professional qualifications, hands-on experience, and the ability to engage with both participants and community partners.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre was founded 1989 as a community-based initiative to provide help, friendship and support to the most disenfranchised people in the community. The emphasis of all of our activities is on people and the relief of issues and concerns that impede them from living a successful and happy life.

We develop and deliver programs and services in response to community need. Presently, the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre manages 30 funded programs that encompass aspects of aged care, family services, diversity and social isolation.
