Job summary

Planned Irrigation Projects is hiring skilled irrigation installers for Melbourne projects, including golf courses, sports grounds, and racetracks. You will work with large pipe systems, pumps, bores, recycled water, and control systems, reporting to the Project Manager.

Most work is in Melbourne with occasional regional projects; 38-hour weeks with RDOs, overtime available, and a clear progression toward leading a crew. Right to work in Australia and a White Card are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years irrigation experience preferred.
• Right to work in Australia required.
• White Card required.
• Irrigation license or rego is a bonus, not must.

Responsibilities

• Install PVC and poly pipework (20–300mm+) and fittings.
• Install and test decoders, wiring and central control systems.
• Install and adjust sprinklers, valves, pumps and filters.
• Trench and operate around machinery.
• Troubleshoot and fault-find irrigation systems.
• Lead a crew or work as part of one.

Planned Irrigation Projects – Mulgrave VIC

Build irrigation on some of Victoria's most iconic grounds

Right now our crews are working at Royal Melbourne Golf Club and Moonee Valley Racecourse, and we've already secured projects well into 2027 and 2028. If you want to work on some of the best sporting grounds in the country, with the security of a full pipeline of work, we'd like to hear from you.

$30–$45/hr depending on your skills and experience

Company ute, fuel card, tools and PPE provided

38-hour week with RDOs, plus overtime available

Permanent full-time, paid fortnightly

About us

Think Water Melbourne (Planned Irrigation Projects Pty Ltd) has been Victoria's leading commercial irrigation contractor since 1983. We design and install irrigation for golf courses, sports grounds, racetracks, wineries, parks and public spaces.

The work

You’ll join a crew of skilled installers, backed by our design and project management team, and report to the Project Manager. Most of our work is across Melbourne, with the occasional regional and interstate project.

You’ll work as part of a small-team delivering projects, like a golf course, from start to finish. No two projects are the same and your next might be with a different team building a park in the Brighton or a winery in the Yarra Valley. Along the way you’ll work with big pipe, pumps, bores, recycled water and control systems.

What you’ll be doing

• Installing PVC and poly pipework (20–300mm+) and fittings
• Installing and testing decoders, wiring and central control systems
• Installing and adjusting sprinklers, valves, pumps and filters
• Trenching and working with and around machinery
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding irrigation systems
• Leading a crew or working as part of one

Ideally you’ll have 2+ years of irrigation experience, but if you’ve got the right attitude and some irrigation background from landscaping, apply anyway.
