Job description

Australian Turf Projects is seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Installer to join our team in Sydney, NSW.

This is a full-time position based on-site where you will play a crucial role in the installation and setup of irrigation systems for our clients. As an Irrigation Installer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all irrigation systems are installed to the highest standards, meeting project specifications and industry regulations.

This role is essential to delivering quality outcomes for our customers and maintaining Australian Turf Projects' reputation as a leading provider of turf and landscape solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Installing irrigation systems, including pipework, sprinklers, valves, controllers and related components according to project plans and specifications
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and irrigation system designs
• Preparing sites for irrigation installation, including excavation, trenching and ground preparation as required
• Connecting and testing irrigation systems to ensure they function correctly and meet performance standards
• Troubleshooting and resolving irrigation system issues during and after installation
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used and time spent on each project
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements
• Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members and clients regarding project progress and any issues that arise
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and reporting any defects or maintenance needs

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Installer or in a similar role within the landscaping or construction industry
• Sound knowledge of irrigation system components, installation methods and best practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
• Proficiency in using irrigation installation tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various job sites across Sydney
• Current or willingness to obtain relevant certifications or qualifications in irrigation installation or related areas
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
