Job summary

IPD Group in Sydney, Australia is creating a Product Manager role to lead the Emergency Lighting portfolio. You will own end-to-end management, drive strategy, and work with sales teams to deliver innovative lighting solutions.

Reporting to the Business Manager – Smart Buildings, you will develop market strategies, manage suppliers, and ensure pricing, profitability, and compliance while supporting customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in a Product Management role is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop channel-focused strategies for Emergency Lighting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with CRM and ERP systems.
• Good time management and planning.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end management of the product portfolio.
• Drive market growth by understanding Emergency Lighting trends and competitors.
• Deliver high-quality service and maintain technical expertise across product applications and lifecycle management.
• Lead product strategy and innovation, including introducing new products and optimizing portfolio performance, pricing, and profitability.
• Build and manage strong supplier partnerships, ensuring effective supply, pricing, and issue resolution.
• Support sales success through tender assistance, technical training, and creation of sales enablement tools.
• Ensure compliance, quality, and continuous improvement across all product-related processes.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and professionalism in all work activities.

As a trusted product expert, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our sales teams, delivering technical guidance and training, managing supplier relationships, and engaging directly with customers to identify opportunities and deliver innovative solutions.

Reporting to the Business Manager – Smart Buildings, you will take ownership of a growing product portfolio, influencing product strategy, market development, and business performance while helping shape the future direction of our Emergency Lighting offering.

About the role

You will own the end-to-end management of the product portfolio, ensuring it remains competitive, innovative, and commercially successful.

• Driving market growth by developing deep knowledge of Emergency Lighting, including competitors and trends.
• Delivering high-quality service and maintaining technical expertise across product applications and lifecycle management.
• Leading product strategy and innovation, including introducing new products and optimizing portfolio performance, pricing, and profitability.
• Building and managing strong supplier partnerships, ensuring effective supply, pricing, and resolution of product or quality issues.
• Supporting sales success through tender assistance, technical training, and creation of sales enablement tools.
• Ensuring compliance, quality, and continuous improvement across all product-related processes.
• Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and professionalism in all work activities.

About You

• Qualification as an Electrical Engineer, Qualified Trade Electrician, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in a Product Management role is preferred.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing channel-focused strategies, particularly in nominated Product Group (Emergency Lighting)
• Strong analytical skills with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Working knowledge of digital platforms, including CRM and ERP systems.
• Excellent time management and planning skills.
• Willingness to travel and drive results across diverse markets.
