Job summary

Optus is seeking a Solutions Architect to shape how our IP automation and observability platform is automated, integrated, and evolved at national scale. You will lead architecture across the automation stack, collaborate with vendor ecosystems, cloud providers, and OSS/BSS, and drive architectural governance.

You’ll mentor engineers, engage with cross-functional teams, and help translate complex network requirements into scalable, maintainable platform designs with a focus on performance,

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in CS or related fields.
• Minimum 4+ years in solutions architecture or similar.
• Experience in telco, network, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Understanding of RESTful and event-driven APIs.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, TM Forum eTOM/Open APIs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across the automation and observability platform.
• Define how the platform integrates with vendor systems, cloud providers, and OSS/BSS.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, run proof-of-concept initiatives, and make recommendations.
• Translate network requirements into coherent, scalable platform architectures.
• Align architectural decisions with business strategy and engineering standards.
• Provide architectural governance and set integration standards across the platform.
• Mentor engineers and represent the team in cross-functional forums.
