Job summary

GOW Recruitment is partnering with a growing financial services business to appoint an experienced Investment Operations Manager to own day-to-day operations and help build a scalable, resilient operating model. This hands-on role requires solving problems, owning end-to-end processes, and collaborating with senior leadership to deliver accurate reporting and strong controls.

You'll use advanced Excel, BI tools, and data reconciliations to drive efficiency while maintaining rigorous standards

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, investment operations, business operations or similar.
• Ideally experience within investment management, wealth management, funds management or superannuation.
• Strong operational judgement with a natural instinct for checking, reconciling and validating information.
• Strong ownership and follow-through, with the ability to see issues through to resolution.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex data and reconciliations.
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved wherever the business needs support.
• Experience with portfolio performance reporting, Power BI, Sharesight or similar tools would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliable delivery of core operational processes, providing oversight, quality control and hands‑on support when required
• Perform four‑eyes checking and investigate exceptions, anomalies and operational issues
• Identify root causes, assess options and recommend solutions rather than simply escalating problems
• Monitor operational performance, risks, service issues and control weaknesses
• Own and improve operational processes, controls, documentation and service standards
• Manage recurring investment and business operations reporting, ensuring information is accurate and delivered on time
• Use Excel, automation, AI and business intelligence tools to improve reporting, analysis and operational efficiency
• Keep projects and operational initiatives moving by proactively following up stakeholders and resolving blockers
