UBS in Sydney is seeking an Investment Banking COO Team Associate to support the Global Banking business in Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on the public capital markets. You will help run the front-to-back control environment, regulatory and audit affairs, and drive operating efficiencies.

You will work with the ANZ Global Banking team to develop strategic initiatives, manage pipeline reporting and revenue forecasting, and drive profitability through data-driven insights and AI-enabled

• Management of transaction pipeline reporting and forecasting of revenues
• Management of key Global Banking transaction approval processes
• Oversight of monthly expense processes, including AMEX
• Responsible for key monthly business update submissions
• Ensure policies are adhered to, reviewed and challenged with stakeholders
• Help drive profitability through revenue enablement and cost/efficiency opportunities
• Leverage data, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve business processes, reporting and decision-making

Investment Banking COO Team Associate - Global Banking

You will be working in the IB COO Global Banking team in Sydney supporting the Global Banking business in Australia and New Zealand with focus on the public capital markets business. The team supports the day-to-day running of the business and oversees and monitors the delivery of the front-to-back control environment, regulatory and audit affairs, operating efficiencies as well as financial performance.

Key responsibilities

Assist the ANZ Global Banking business to develop and execute its strategic initiatives

Drive front-to-back controls, including identifying, reviewing and addressing gaps in the control framework in close collaboration with control functions and the regional and global IB COO Global Banking team, with strong focus on capital markets

Management of transaction pipeline reporting and forecasting of revenues

Management of key Global Banking transaction approval processes

Oversight of monthly expense processes, including AMEX

Responsible for key monthly business update submissions

Ensure policies are adhered to, reviewed and challenged accordingly in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders

Help drive profitability through revenue enablement and identification of cost/efficiency opportunities

Leverage data, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve business processes, reporting and decision-making

About you

Experience in a similar role is highly advantageous, otherwise a minimum of 2 years' experience in finance, strategy, risk, compliance, operations or a related function within financial services

Detail oriented with strong problem-solving and numerical skills (minimum intermediate excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's etc)

Familiarity with AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot) and an interest in applying technology to improve business outcomes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to deal with people at all levels of the organization

Flexible work attitude, which is critical in order to adapt to changing priorities, whilst remaining calm under pressure

Incredibly organised, with an innate sense of how to prioritize when handling multiple competing priorities simultaneously
