Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking an Investment Assurance Lead to steer independent assurance of major investment decisions and enhance governance and business-case quality. You will influence outcomes that shape long‑term enterprise value.

Reporting to the Head of Assurance and Optioneering, you will lead a specialist team, partner with executives and governance forums, and deliver trusted, evidence-based recommendations that improve investment decisions across Airservices' capital program.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading investment assurance, business-case development, and major infrastructure investments.
• Proven ability to influence executives, boards and governance committees on complex strategic and investment decisions.
• Expertise in business-case assurance, investment governance, benefits management and value-for-money assessment frameworks.
• Strong analytical, financial and strategic analysis capabilities, with the ability to challenge assumptions and improve decision quality.
• Experience building high-performing specialist teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling recommendations.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Head of Assurance and Optioneering, you will lead Airservices' Investment Assurance function and play a critical role in shaping some of the organisation's most significant investment decisions. Leading a team of business case and assurance specialists, you will provide independent review, challenge and advice across a complex capital portfolio, helping ensure investment proposals are strategically aligned, evidence-based and deliver long-term value for money. You will work closely with executives, project leaders and governance forums to strengthen investment decision-making, improve business case quality and embed best-practice assurance across the enterprise. The Assurance and Optioneering team partners with leaders across Airservices to improve investment outcomes, strengthen governance and support informed decision-making. The Person

You are an experienced investment, assurance, strategy or infrastructure leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys influencing decisions that have organisation-wide impact. You bring a balance of commercial acumen, strategic thinking and analytical rigour, coupled with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions and drive better investment outcomes. You are equally comfortable leading specialist teams as you are presenting recommendations to executives and governance committees.

The successful applicant will have:

• Demonstrated experience leading investment assurance, business case development, strategic planning, economics, commercial analysis or major infrastructure investment functions.
• Proven experience influencing senior executives, boards, governance forums or investment committees on complex strategic and investment decisions.
• Expertise in business case assurance, investment governance, benefits management and value-for-money assessment frameworks.
• Strong commercial, financial and strategic analysis capability, with the ability to challenge assumptions and improve decision quality.
• Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing specialist teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling recommendations.
