Job summary

Airservices Australia seeks a Senior Business Analyst to lead the development of business cases and investment submissions from concept through to funding approval. You will work with senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology and Operations to shape investment priorities and secure funding for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex business cases from concept through to funding approval.
• Experience undertaking options analysis and developing evidence-based recommendations for investment decisions.
• Experience with CAPEX, OPEX, whole-of-life costing and cost-benefit analysis.
• Outstanding written communication skills for executive-level business case documentation.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement across multiple functions.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking with ability to challenge assumptions.
• Experience in complex organisations, ideally infrastructure/government/large enterprise.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications; CBAP/PMI-PBA are highly regarded.

Drive high-value technology and strategic investments by leading the development of business cases and investment submissions that influence enterprise-wide decision making. The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Project Manager within Technology Service Delivery, you will lead the development of business cases and investment submissions for strategic and technology initiatives across Airservices. From concept definition through to investment approval, you will work with senior stakeholders, Finance, Technology, Operations and subject matter experts to build compelling evidence-based cases for investment.

You will analyse complex business challenges, define cases for change, undertake options assessments and develop recommendations supported by financial, operational and strategic analysis. A critical aspect of the role is ensuring proposed investments are commercially sound, aligned to organisational priorities and sufficiently developed to support governance and funding decisions.

This role offers the opportunity to influence major investment decisions, partner with senior leaders across the organisation and contribute to initiatives that shape the future direction of Airservices Australia.

The Person

You are a commercially minded and strategic Business Analyst who enjoys working through ambiguity, influencing stakeholders and turning complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. You thrive in fast-paced environments, can manage competing priorities and are passionate about delivering business outcomes that create lasting value.

The successful applicant will have:

• Demonstrated experience leading the development of complex business cases, investment cases or funding submissions from concept through to investment approval.
• Strong experience undertaking options analysis and developing evidence-based recommendations for investment decisions.
• Experience working with financial concepts including CAPEX, OPEX, whole-of-life costing and cost-benefit analysis.
• Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality executive-level business case documentation.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills, with experience working across multiple business functions.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking capability, including the confidence to challenge assumptions and identify gaps in supporting evidence.
• Experience operating within complex organisations, ideally within infrastructure, government, regulated or large enterprise environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, economics, technology, management or a related discipline. Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA will be highly regarded
