Job summary

Dowell Windows Pty seeks an Inventory Controller to ensure accurate stock across Smithfield and Queanbeyan sites, managing ERP transactions and cycle counts. You will collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to sustain production flow and customer service.

The role requires attention to detail, strong data accuracy, and the ability to improve processes with lean tools in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in inventory/stock control.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Good cross-department communication and ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily inventory of extrusion, glass, rubber, hardware, and other components.
• Accurately complete goods receipting and issue processes within ERP systems
• Maintain stock records and locations, performing regular cycle counts
• Liaise with Purchasing Officers to ensure timely stock replenishment
• Review imported glass and end cap usage, providing improvement recommendations
• Support Finance with bi-annual stocktakes
• Ensure inventory accuracy and meet KPIs such as DIFOT and IDS
• Drive process improvements using lean tools and methods

About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity for an Inventory Controller to join our Smithfield team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory control across our Smithfield and Queanbeyan sites, maintaining system integrity, and contributing to operational performance and customer service outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

Has at least 2 years’ experience in an inventory, warehouse, or stock control role

Is confident using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Office

Has strong attention to detail and data accuracy

Communicates well across departments and takes ownership of tasks

Brings a “can-do” attitude with the ability to work both independently and in a team

Understands how accurate inventory management supports production efficiency and customer satisfaction
