Job summary

HTC Foods is seeking an Inventory Controller to maintain accurate stock records and align physical stock with our inventory system. You will work hands-on with Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales and Operations to improve stock accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

The role emphasizes cycle counts, stocktakes, and ensuring FIFO/FEFO practices while monitoring batch/expiry information for food products. Excellent attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records across the warehouse and inventory management systems.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and coordinate scheduled stocktakes.
• Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies and inventory variances.
• Monitor stock movements, transfers, adjustments and write-offs.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing inventory is correctly recorded.
• Monitor batch, lot and expiry information for food products.
• Support FIFO/FEFO inventory practices and stock rotation.
• Identify short-dated, damaged, obsolete or slow-moving stock and escalate issues appropriately.
• Investigate negative stock, incorrect allocations and system discrepancies.
• Work closely with Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales and Operations to resolve inventory issues.

Job description

Reporting to the Operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, investigating stock discrepancies and ensuring physical stock aligns with our inventory system. This is a hands-on role that works closely with our Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales and Operations teams. You will play an important part in improving stock accuracy, reducing inventory discrepancies and ensuring our inventory processes are consistently followed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records across the warehouse and inventory management systems
• Conduct regular cycle counts and coordinate scheduled stocktakes
• Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies and inventory variances
• Monitor stock movements, transfers, adjustments and write-offs

About you

• Previous experience as an Inventory Controller, Stock Controller or similar inventory-focused role
• Experience in warehousing, wholesale, distribution, FMCG or food environments
• Strong understanding of inventory control and stock reconciliation
• Experience conducting cycle counts and stocktakes
• Strong Excel and computer skills
• Experience using ERP, WMS or inventory management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across different departments
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
