Job summary

Macquarie University Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Angiography Unit. The role focuses on interventional cardiology and image-guided procedures in a state-of-the-art facility.

You will deliver expert nursing care, assist with PCI and device implants, and work within a multidisciplinary team in an academically integrated setting that emphasises research, education and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Cath Lab, Angiography and/or Cardiac nursing.
• Willingness to cross‑train in roles such as Cath Lab Cardiac Technician.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to establish professional relationships with peers, patients and the multidisciplinary team.
• Well‑developed computer skills including EMR, MS Word, Excel and web‑based research.
• Demonstrated ability in assessing, planning and implementing preventative care approaches.
• Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing a range of cardiac and interventional procedures.
• Assist with diagnostic angiograms, PCI, pacemaker implants and structural heart disease interventions in a high‑technology environment.
• Assess, plan and implement preventative and therapeutic care approaches for patients pre-, intra- and post‑procedure.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac technicians and the broader multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient‑centred care.
• Mentor and support junior nursing staff and students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice aligned with our academic mission.
• Cross‑train in complementary roles such as Cath Lab Cardiac Technician once established within the unit.
