Job summary

Macquarie University Health is seeking permanent full-time Registered Nurse to join our expanding Intensive Care/Coronary Care Unit. Our 20-bed ICU/CCU provides care across multiple surgical and medical specialties, serving as a centre of excellence within our university health precinct.

You will deliver expert critical care, work with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff and contribute to ongoing learning and research aligned with our academic mission.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Adult Intensive Care or Coronary Care environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised within ICU/CCU at an advanced clinical level.
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.
• Proficient with electronic medical records and common office software.
• Ability to assess, plan and implement preventative care approaches.
• Capable of prioritising and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, evidence-based clinical care to critically ill patients across surgical and medical specialties.
• Manage complex patient presentations in a high-acuity environment with increasing procedural scope.
• Participate in ongoing learning and development within the unit.
• Mentor and support junior nursing staff and students.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred care.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research aligned with our academic mission.
• Work autonomously and in a team to plan and implement care.
