Job summary

Balcombe Engineering P/L is seeking an internal salesperson to support existing customers, provide quotations, and manage orders for a technical valve product line. The role emphasizes understanding valve specifications and matching accessories to customer requirements.

The successful candidate will liaise with customers, workshop staff and suppliers, and may suit a Sales Engineer able to demonstrate knowledge of the petrochemical and water industries. Based in Hallam, Victoria.

Balcombe Engineering P/L is a market leader in the distribution of Valves and Flanges plus local manufacture of high-quality flanges. The business supplies to the Irrigation, Mining, Engineering, Petroleum, and Water industries. The Hallam location holds Australia's largest range of Valves and Flanges.

The business requires an internal salesperson to support existing customers by providing quotations, tracking their orders, and ensuring their requirements are met. The position involves mostly technical sales of valves, so valve experience is required.

This is a role that provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated and industrious individual. You will need to be energetic and enjoy working with a diverse customer base. You will be liaising with customers, workshop staff and suppliers.

The role

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Maintaining relationships with existing customers.

Provide technical information to customers and review their technical specifications. Selecting the right valve and accessories to meet the customer requirement.

Providing fast and accurate quotations that are compliant to specifications provided.

Processing orders via phone and email

Build manufacturing order documentation where required

Give timely feedback to customer enquiries (phone and email)

Skills and experience

Candidates with Industry and/or Product knowledge are preferred. Experience and knowledge of valves is essential. The position may also suit a Sales Engineer who would like to demonstrate their understanding of the petrochemical and water industries.
