With continued growth and expansion into new brands and product ranges, we’re looking for another Internal Sales Estimator to join our friendly and experienced team in Albion.
We’re looking for someone with strong technical aptitude who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies and developing practical solutions.
You’ll work with an established flow of project enquiries and tender requests, interpreting electrical drawings and specifications, selecting suitable products and systems, and preparing accurate, competitive quotations.
This is more than simply counting fittings and pricing products. You’ll need to understand how different systems work, evaluate alternative solutions and consider factors such as cost, installation requirements and functionality.
You’ll have the support of our experienced engineering, sales and technical teams, but we’re looking for someone who can learn quickly, show initiative and progressively take ownership of their projects.
The role is predominantly office-based, with opportunities for customer engagement and broader involvement in the business for those interested.
Reviewing electrical drawings, lighting layouts and technical specifications
Preparing material take-offs, equipment selections and project quotations
Developing suitable lighting, lighting control and emergency lighting solutions
Liaising with electrical contractors, wholesalers, engineers and consultants to clarify project requirements
Managing multiple RFQs and meeting tender deadlines
Following up quotations and identifying opportunities to offer alternative or additional solutions
Working closely with our sales and technical teams
We’re seeking someone with a strong technical mindset, excellent problem-solving ability and the confidence to work through complex project requirements.
You may come from estimating, electrical wholesale, internal sales, technical sales or a related electrical industry background. What’s most important is your ability to understand technical concepts, think independently and quickly apply new knowledge.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand how different products and systems work together
A good understanding of electrical products, systems or the broader electrical industry
Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications or project documentation
The ability to analyse requirements, evaluate options and develop practical solutions
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
Confidence with computers and learning new software
Clear communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Initiative, sound judgement and the motivation to continually develop your knowledge
Experience in commercial lighting, emergency lighting, DALI or building automation would be highly regarded, but isn’t essential.
You don’t need to be a qualified electrician or engineer, but you do need to be technically capable, a quick learner and comfortable taking ownership of your work.
