Job summary

Pacific National in North Sydney is seeking a Workforce Coordinator to support our Intermodal team. You will help coordinate daily allocation of crew and assets (500+ train crew, 1,400 wagons, 130 locomotives) to keep operations safe, efficient and on schedule.

No prior rail experience is required; full training and ongoing support will be provided to develop rostering and operational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• No rail experience required; willingness to learn.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Clear verbal and written communication; digital skills.
• Able to learn complex rostering systems.
• Organised, decisive in a time-critical environment.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Interest in transport, logistics or rail operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and allocate crew and assets in line with daily plans.
• Maintain and update crew rosters; adapt to changing requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to position people and assets correctly.
• Monitor operations and support solutions to keep freight moving.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, operational and industrial requirements.
• Work a rotating 12-hour day/night roster (4 on/5 off, 5 on/4 off, 5 on/5 off).
