Job summary

Recruit Shop Pty Ltd in Albion (Brisbane) seeks a seasoned management accountant to deliver monthly management accounts, board reporting packs, and commercial advisory support. The role can start part-time or move to a full-time path, with mentoring from the Founder and CFO.

You will work with diverse clients, assist with cash flow forecasting, modelling, and due diligence, and use AI tools to speed insights while coordinating with offshore teams toward a Fractional CFO role.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance or commerce.
• CA or CPA qualification, or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and client board reporting packs.
• Conduct financial performance analysis and KPI reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end processes.
• Support Fractional CFO team with cash flow forecasting and modelling.
• Assist with funding applications, M&A, and due diligence.
• Utilise AI tools to improve reporting speed and insights.
• Coordinate with teammates locally and offshore.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to deliver management accounting and commercial advisory support to clients while being mentored and developed into a trusted commercial adviser and future Fractional CFO. The role can start as part-time or full-time, with a pathway to a permanent full-time leadership position.

Reporting directly to the Founder and CFO, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and client Board reporting packs
• Financial performance analysis, budget versus actual reporting and financial statement analysis
• Managing month-end, end-of-financial-year processes and KPI reporting
• Supporting the Fractional CFO team with cash flow forecasting, financial modelling, scenario analysis and budget preparation
• Assisting clients with funding applications, capital raising, mergers, acquisitions, due diligence and R&D reporting
• Using AI tools to improve the speed, quality and insight of reporting, analysis and modelling
• Supporting teammates locally and offshore and helping coordinate workflow across teams
• Assisting with client proposals and business development activities from time to time

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• A degree in accounting, finance or commerce
• At least 5 years' relevant accounting or management accounting experience
• CA or CPA qualification, or working towards it (highly regarded)
• Experience with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero (highly regarded)
• A genuine interest in AI and current use of tools like ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot
• Vibrant, positive energy, proactive, excellent people skills and a love of learning
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
