About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a capable and hands‑on Accountant to join a growing technology organisation operating across multiple international jurisdictions. Working closely with the Head of Finance and CFO, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial operations across eight legal entities spanning Australia, North America, Asia, and India. This is an ideal opportunity for an accountant who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a dynamic environment, and wants exposure well beyond a traditional transactional accounting role. While the position is heavily involved in transaction processing, reconciliations, compliance, and month‑end reporting, there is also significant opportunity to contribute to process improvement, finance automation initiatives, and broader business projects as the company continues to scale. The successful candidate will become a trusted finance partner, helping establish strong financial controls, improve reporting processes, and support a growing international operation.

Duties
  • Manage accounts payable, expense claims, corporate card transactions, and payment processing across multiple international entities.
  • Review and approve transactions, ensuring accurate coding, tax treatment, and compliance with company policies.
  • Process supplier payments, customer receipts, and multi‑currency transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain intercompany journals, reconciliations, and balance confirmations.
  • Lead month‑end close activities across multiple legal entities.
  • Prepare accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions, deferred revenue, and other month‑end journals.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor aged receivables and payables and assist with stakeholder follow‑up where required.
  • Support indirect tax reporting, including BAS, GST, sales tax, and other international compliance obligations.
  • Assist with statutory reporting, audit requirements, payroll compliance, and external advisor engagement.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation and greater efficiency.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the business to provide financial support and commercial insights.
  • Contribute to system enhancements, finance projects, and operational improvements as the organisation grows.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
  • Minimum 3 years' accounting experience within a commercial environment.
  • Strong experience managing month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience working with multiple entities, intercompany transactions, and multi‑currency environments.
  • Sound understanding of GST, tax compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Strong Excel capabilities and experience using cloud-based accounting systems, ideally Xero.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and capable of working autonomously.
  • Previous experience within a technology, SaaS, scale‑up, or high‑growth environment will be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to finance automation, process improvement, AI tools, or system implementation projects will be viewed favourably.
