MAMAS Dining Group in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to shape the look, feel and functionality of its venues. You’ll own concepts from first idea to final installation and see ideas come to life across Hochi Mama, Kiss & Tell, Straight Outta Saigon and other spaces.

You’ll balance creativity with budgets and operations, work with architects, builders and internal teams, and help refresh venues to keep environments memorable and commercially viable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in commercial interior design, with hospitality, retail or similar projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and delivery.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers and timelines.

We're looking for an experienced Interior Designer to help shape the next chapter of MAMAS Dining Group.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your days designing concepts that never leave the drawing board. You'll have genuine creative ownership, the opportunity to see your ideas come to life and a direct influence on the spaces thousands of Melburnians experience every week.

As we evolve our existing venues and look towards what's next, we're ready to bring our design capability in-house.

The opportunity

Working directly with our CEO and alongside our operations, marketing and venue leadership teams, you'll take ownership of the look, feel and functionality of our spaces.

From developing concepts for new restaurants to refreshing established venues, you'll play a hands-on role from the very first idea through to the final installation.

• Create spaces with personality: Develop distinctive design concepts, mood boards, layouts, materials and finishes that bring each venue's identity to life.

• Own the journey: Lead interior design projects from initial concept through to fit-out, installation and handover.

• Make design work commercially: Balance creativity with budgets, durability, operational flow and the realities of a busy hospitality environment.

• Build strong partnerships: Work with architects, builders, suppliers, trades and our internal teams to turn great ideas into finished spaces.

• Keep us evolving: Identify opportunities to improve and refresh existing venues, ensuring our spaces continue to look and feel their best.

Who we're looking for

You're a creative thinker, but you're also someone who knows how to get things done.

You understand that beautiful design is only one part of the equation. The best hospitality spaces also need to function for the people working in them, stand up to a busy Saturday night and make commercial sense.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• At least 3 years' experience in commercial interior design, with hospitality, retail or similar projects under your belt.

• A portfolio of completed projects that demonstrates your creativity and ability to deliver.

• Strong technical skills across AutoCAD or Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.

• Experience working with contractors, suppliers, budgets and project timelines.

• An understanding of commercial fit-outs, compliance and materials.

• The confidence to own projects, communicate ideas and work with a range of stakeholders.
