Job summary

TradeWise Renovations is seeking an experienced Interior Designer & Business Development Coordinator to join our Canberra team. This role combines kitchen and bathroom design, client consultation and business development, with a strong emphasis on using SketchUp to develop concepts and layouts.

You will manage front-end renovation tasks from inquiry through design, documentation and handover, working closely with the directors and project management team to build relationships with clients,

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen and bathroom design, renovation, cabinetry or related industry.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Ability to produce accurate and practical design documentation.
• Understanding cabinetry and joinery.
• Understanding how kitchens and bathrooms are constructed.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.

Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective clients to understand renovation requirements.
• Discuss budgets, layouts, materials and practical considerations.
• Develop kitchen and bathroom concepts and layouts.
• Prepare drawings and documentation for quoting and construction.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers.

Interior Designer & Business Development Coordinator

TradeWise Renovations is looking for an experienced Interior Designer & Business Development Coordinator to join our Canberra team.

This is a varied role combining kitchen and bathroom design, client consultation and business development.

We are looking for someone who understands kitchens and bathrooms, is confident using SketchUp, enjoys dealing with clients and has the commercial awareness and personality to build relationships and identify new opportunities.

About the role

You will be involved in the front end of renovation projects, from the initial client enquiry through to design, documentation and handover to the project team. Working closely with the directors, you will meet with prospective clients, develop concepts and layouts, produce 3D designs, and build relationships with clients, businesses and industry professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with prospective clients and understand their renovation requirements
• Discuss budgets, layouts, materials and practical considerations
• Develop kitchen and bathroom concepts and layouts
• Prepare drawings and documentation for quoting and construction
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers
• Attend sites when required to confirm existing conditions and measurements

• Attend relevant industry events, meetings and networking opportunities

About you

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in kitchen and bathroom design, renovation, cabinetry, building or a related industry.

You will have:

• Strong kitchen and bathroom design and sales experience
• Proficiency in SketchUp
• The ability to produce accurate and practical design documentation
• A good understanding of cabinetry and joinery
• An understanding of how kitchens and bathrooms are constructed
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• High moral and ethical standards
• Confidence dealing directly with clients
• Strong attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Commercial awareness and an interest in business development
• The ability to build genuine professional relationships
• A practical approach to problem solving

Experience working with existing homes and renovation projects will be highly regarded.

We specialise in kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovations and complete internal renovations, with a particular focus on quality, service and transforming established Canberra homes.
