Spott, an architecture, planning and interior design practice in Sydney, seeks a mid-level Interior Designer to join its growing Sydney team. The role focuses on autonomous interior project work, building strong client relationships, and developing towards leadership within the studio.

You will bring upwards of five years of interior design experience, a professional Revit capability, and an interest in hospitality or multi-residential projects.

Responsibilities

An architecture and planning & interior design practice in Sydney is seeking a mid-level Interior Designer to join its new and growing Sydney team. Following business development activity and a stronger focus on the Sydney market, the practice is building its local capability and appointing its first interior designer in the studio. The role suits a designer who can manage interior projects autonomously, maintain strong client relationships, and grow into greater leadership responsibility over time.

The opportunity

You will bring dedicated interior design expertise to a growing Sydney team within an architecture and planning practice. Recent business development activity and a stronger focus on the Sydney market have created the need for someone who can take ownership of interiors work and build effective client relationships. A principal will support you in developing your business development and client management capabilities, while drawing on your existing ability to run projects independently from an interiors perspective. Experience in hospitality, multi-residential or medium-scale accommodation projects is particularly of interest.

What you will do

Manage interior design projects autonomously and maintain strong client relationships.

Develop concepts in response to project briefs.

Prepare design presentations, FF&E schedules, project documentation/joinery in REVIT.

Coordinate with Architectural colleagues, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

Communicate design decisions clearly to clients and project teams.

What you bring

Upwards of five years’ interior design experience and the confidence to manage projects independently.

Demonstrate strong client skills and an interest in developing towards senior leadership.

Offer experience in hospitality, multi-residential or accommodation projects, ideally with knowledge of local suppliers and industry standards.

Professional Revit experience; it is essential in the practice’s working environment.

What’s on offer?

This is a full-time position based in the City of Sydney area. The salary range is AUD 90,000–95,000 + superannuation, with a one-day flexible working arrangement.
