The Electrical Co. Australia – Tweed Heads NSW is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller / CFO to take immediate ownership of the finance function, delivering strong commercial support to the CEO.

This senior, hands-on role requires financial leadership and hands-on involvement in governance, reporting, and performance improvement. Key responsibilities include ownership of management reporting, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting, and driving enhanced finance processes and systems

• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and cash flow.

The Electrical Co. Australia is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller / CFO to step into the business and take immediate ownership of the finance function while providing strong commercial and strategic support to the CEO. This is a senior, hands-on finance role for a professional who can quickly understand the business, provide financial leadership and work closely with management to improve financial discipline, reporting and commercial decision-making.

Key responsibilities

Take ownership of management reporting, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting

Maintain and improve the existing three-way financial forecast

Strengthen financial controls, governance and approval processes

Review financial and operational performance, including margins, productivity and capacity

Provide commercial analysis and decision support directly to the CEO

Take ownership of reporting and analytical tools already developed

Drive implementation and adoption of improved finance processes and systems

Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and cash flow

Support management with commercial planning and business performance

Provide leadership and oversight to the existing finance function

About you

Experienced Financial Controller, CFO or Head of Finance

Strong background in privately owned or small to mid-sized businesses

Experience in field services, contracting, utilities, infrastructure or another operationally driven environment (highly regarded)

Commercial, pragmatic and hands-on approach

Capable of working at CFO level when required while also being prepared to get into the detail

Authority to challenge existing practices and strengthen financial discipline
