Job summary

Aurec Human Capital Group is seeking a technically versatile integration support specialist to join a multidisciplinary digital delivery team for critical data integration and service modernisation initiatives across a major Federal Government Agency in Canberra.

You will blend business analysis with hands-on pipeline engineering to design scalable API and ETL/ELT solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Lead discovery activities, requirements elicitation, and process analysis to translate business needs into developer-ready API specifications and data mappings.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Define API documentation including endpoints, payloads, authentication, and error-handling protocols.
• Profile source data, implement data quality controls, reconciliation, and monitoring.

We are looking to engage a technically versatile and experienced integration support specialist to join a high performing, multidisciplinary digital delivery team driving critical data integration and service modernisation initiatives across a major Federal Government Agency. You will leverage your hybrid expertise across business analysis and hands-on pipeline engineering to design and deliver robust, scalable API and ETL/ELT integration solutions that shape key national services.

Candidates with a Baseline security clearance will be preferred for this position.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead discovery activities, requirements elicitation, and process analysis to translate business needs into developer-ready API specifications, user stories, and source-to-target data mappings.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain robust ETL and ELT pipelines extracting and loading data across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Define comprehensive API documentation, including endpoints, request/response payloads, authentication, data contracts, and error-handling protocols.
• Profile source data and establish rigorous data quality controls, reconciliation mechanisms, query optimisation, and operational monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, software engineers, and product owners to ensure solutions align with security standards, data governance, and reusable service principles.
• Prepare technical runbooks, data lineage artefacts, and operational handover documentation while actively participating in CI/CD pipeline deployments.

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:

• Technical Toolkit: Advanced SQL skills alongside experience with ETL/ELT platforms (e.g., Talend), API connectivity (MuleSoft, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML), Oracle PL/SQL, DevOps tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins), and enterprise application environments (e.g., Salesforce, Technology One, Java, or .NET).
• Experience: Proven experience combining business analysis methodologies with hands-on integration pipeline development, source-to-target mapping, and system integration testing in complex enterprise settings.
• Core Capabilities: Strong stakeholder facilitation skills with a proven ability to bridge technical concepts for non-technical audiences, backed by tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
