Job summary

KBR Australia seeks an experienced Integrated Logistics Support Manager to drive ILSS across the COMSEC Modernisation Program and related projects. You will coordinate ILS activities, develop documentation, and engage with Defence stakeholders and industry partners to ensure successful transitions to service.

You will lead ILS working groups, manage artefacts, and report on progress while ensuring compliance with security clearances and governance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Integrated Logistics Support Manager within Defence or complex engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of Defence acquisition, capability delivery, and sustainment frameworks.
  • Experience developing Defence ILS documentation and artefacts; demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience preparing documentation for government submissions and senior stakeholders.
  • NV1 Defence Clearance is required; only candidates with this clearance should apply.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of Integrated Logistics Support Working Groups (ILSWGs).
  • Develop, review, and maintain key ILS documentation (ILSP, ILSI, PSA, CEMI, PCA).
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across Defence, project teams, sustainment organisations, and industry partners.
  • Review ILS artefacts and documentation produced by internal and external teams.
  • Manage document endorsement processes and stakeholder approvals.
  • Support transition of capabilities into operational environments with transition plans and sustainment strategies.
  • Identify training requirements and contribute to training development activities.
  • Maintain/update ILS artefacts following changes and capability enhancements.
  • Contribute to project management, engineering management, and risk management activities.
  • Provide regular reporting on ILS progress, risks, and issues.

The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking an experienced and motivated Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager to play a key role in supporting the JNT09141 COMSEC Modernisation Program and associated acquisition projects. Reporting to the Program and Acquisition Project Managers, you will provide subject matter expertise that supports Government submissions, acquisition activities, and the successful transition of capabilities into service. Working across both acquisition and modernisation initiatives, you will provide specialist ILS expertise, influence key project outcomes, and engage with a broad range of Defence stakeholders, industry partners, engineers, and project teams. As the ILS Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, development, coordination, and delivery of Integrated Logistics Support activities across multiple programs. You will ensure that systems are supportable, sustainable, and ready for operational use through the development of key ILS documentation, management of ILS activities, and coordination of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of Integrated Logistics Support Working Groups (ILSWGs).
  • Develop, review, and maintain key ILS documentation, including: Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP) Integrated Logistics Support Instructions (ILSI) Product Support Analysis (PSA) COMSEC Engineering Management Instructions (CEMI) Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) documentation.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across Defence, project teams, sustainment organisations, and industry partners.
  • Review and assess ILS artefacts and documentation developed by internal teams and external contractors.
  • Manage document endorsement processes and stakeholder approvals.
  • Support the transition of capabilities into operational environments through the development of transition plans and sustainment strategies.
  • Identify training requirements, develop training plans, and support capability uplift activities.
  • Maintain and update ILS artefacts following system changes, testing outcomes, and capability enhancements.
  • Contribute to project management, engineering management, and risk management activities.
  • Provide regular reporting on ILS progress, risks, issues, and project outcomes.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
  • Proven experience as an Integrated Logistics Support Manager or Senior ILS Practitioner within Defence, Government, or complex engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of Defence acquisition, capability delivery, and sustainment frameworks.
  • Experience developing and managing Defence ILS documentation and artefacts.Demonstrated ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing documentation for senior stakeholders and Government submissions.
  • Experience supporting capability transition, sustainment planning, and training development activities.
  • Knowledge of COMSEC, communications systems, ICT, or related Defence capabilities will be highly regarded.
  • All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
