Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking an Intake Practitioner for the Gold Coast Homelessness Service in Bilinga. This casual, on-site role involves screening, triage and risk assessment to connect clients with housing support and case management.

The position requires a Cert IV in human services, blue card, and strong IT and communication skills, with a commitment to compassionate, culturally competent service delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum Cert IV in human services or related field.
Current Drivers Licence.
Positive Notice Blue Card.
Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication including proficiency in Information Technology systems (MS Office).
Experience in the community services sector.

Responsibilities

Greeting and responding to walk-in, phone and third-party enquiries with triage and risk assessment.
Set up daily intake services and follow up after hours where required.
Capture data in SHIP and QHIP systems and maintain client records.
Provide intake and assessment to identify housing barriers and goals.
Coordinate access to drop-in services and liaise with case workers as needed.
