Job summary

The ACT Government intake and assessment officer role sits within the Professional Standards Unit in Canberra. This full-time temporary position handles misconduct referrals, PID referrals, complaints and liaison with directorate HR, complainants and witnesses.

You will analyse information to inform assessments, produce high-level submissions and briefs, and support evidence-based decisions. This role requires integrity, trauma-informed communication and ability to work in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Relevant investigative qualifications such as a Certificate IV in Government Investigations and/or a HR related discipline or related field, or the ability to obtain such qualifications.
• Criminal history checks will be conducted prior to employment.
• This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
• This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Responsibilities

• Assess misconduct referrals and identify PID referrals, preliminary assessment requests, complaints and liaise with HR teams, complainants and witnesses.
• Collate and assess investigation referrals and undertake administrative duties including the collection and analysis of misconduct data.
• Produce high level submissions, briefs and reports to Senior Executive and key decision makers.
• Provide administrative support to the broader Professional Standards Unit and respond to changing priorities with sound judgement.
