Job summary

Lightning HR PTY LTD on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an Insurance Repairs Team Leader with a construction or insurance repairs background to coordinate urgent works after storms. You will organise trades, supervise field staff, and liaise with customers and insurers while ensuring safety and timely completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, insurance repairs, building maintenance or supervising field teams.
• Ability to coordinate trades and manage multiple urgent jobs.
• Strong organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Current drivers licence.
• Carpentry or building background and White Card highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Insurance Repairs Administrator

Sunshine Coast | Full-Time

Are you from a construction, building, insurance repairs or trades background and ready to step into a hands‑on leadership role?

Our client is a growing insurance repair and construction business on the Sunshine Coast, looking for an organised and practical Insurance Repairs Team Leader to help coordinate urgent works when homes and properties are damaged by storms, water, fire or other unexpected events.

This role is all about getting the right trades to the right jobs quickly, making sure properties are safe and secure, and keeping customers and insurers updated along the way.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinating urgent repair and make‑safe jobs
• Scheduling trades, technicians and subcontractors
• Helping assess damaged properties and what needs to happen first
• Organising temporary repairs such as roof tarping, boarding windows and securing damaged areas
• Keeping jobs moving and making sure urgent work is completed on time
• Supporting and leading field staff and subcontractors
• Communicating with customers, insurers and internal teams
• Checking job scopes, costs, invoices and contractor work
• Keeping job notes, photos and reports up to date
• Helping solve problems when jobs don't go to plan
• Occasionally assisting with urgent works during major storms or weather events

Who We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from someone who has experience in construction, insurance repairs, building maintenance, restoration, trades coordination or supervising field teams.

You'll be someone who:

• Is organised and good at juggling multiple jobs
• Understands construction or building repairs
• Can confidently coordinate trades and subcontractors
• Is calm when things get busy
• Enjoys solving problems and getting things done
• Communicates well with customers and trades
• Is comfortable using computers, emails and job management systems
• Has a current driver's licence

A carpentry or building background, White Card, construction qualifications or previous insurance repair experience would be highly regarded, but we're also open to someone with strong practical industry experience.
